Terrestiral on steep bank; internodes short, 3 cm diam; petiole sharply D-shaped, medial sulcus dark green, semiglossy; blades subcoriaceous, weakly glossy, slightly bicolored; midrib narrowly rounded and paler above, round-raised and paler below with marginal acute ribs; primary lateral veins deeply sunken and concolorous above, bluntly acute and paler below; spathe green, spreading tinged with purple; spadix dark violet-purple; pistils early emergent; berries red.
